The core idea of liberal thought is individual freedom. This means that a person should have the right to choose their religion, defend their beliefs, and decide how they want to live.
Liberals support equality before the law. In their view, everyone should have the same rights regardless of gender, nationality, religion, or social status.
In general, a liberal is someone who regards freedom and human rights as primary values and respects individual choice. The color most commonly associated with liberalism is yellow.
Although political positions may vary from country to country, the general principles are similar: protection of human rights, free and fair elections, transparent governance, and a market economy.
It is difficult to give a precise answer to the question, “Where do the most liberal people live in the world?” Liberalism is influenced not only by political systems but also by social values, education levels, and cultural environments. Nevertheless, in some countries liberal thinking is considered more widespread.
The Scandinavian countries are often highlighted in this regard. Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, for example, place high importance on individual freedoms, gender equality, and social justice. These countries usually rank highly in international indices related to democracy and human rights.
Some liberals support free markets and competition, while others believe that the state should play a certain role in protecting social equality. However, the common view is that the economic system should not restrict individual freedom.
